The OPR8 Low Profile Half-Amber Filters were made to strike a balance between retaining the most performance possible from your night vision while reducing backsplash on the operators face. Traditional amber filters cut far too much light out of the back of the system, necessitating the user remove them in darker conditions. 

We wanted the best of both worlds. Reduced eye strain? Reduced backsplash? Minimal darkening of the image? The OPR8 Half-Amber Filter is the 100% of the time Amber Filter that was missing from the market. Every single person who has used them swear by them, which is why they are in use all around the globe. 

The Half-Amber Filter is intended for use with Green Phosphor night vision devices. If you have a White Phosphor tube in your unit, it is recommended you instead purchase standard protection for the unit. 

The Low Profile Half-Amber Filter is compatible with any device using PVS-14 style eye pieces.
